Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders at Digital Transformation Agency

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.

We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to Elders both past and present.

We offer our First Nations employees equitable and inclusive opportunities for professional growth and networking, and we actively support and encourage their career advancement and mobility.

  • We provide paid leave for First Nations employees to participate in NAIDOC week and other cultural activities, and to fulfil ceremonial duties.
  • Our free employee assistance program provides our First Nations employees with dedicated and specialised services.
  • We provide access to appropriate professional mentors to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
  • We are conscious of cultural load and ensure we consult with First Nations employees on matters that affect them without expecting them to take on additional work.

We are committed to reconciliation and acknowledge that it has a part in contributing to meaningful, genuine, and enduring reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples.

We have Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artworks and artefacts in our offices and celebrate and acknowledge NAIDOC week and National Reconciliation Week.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan aims to provide real and substantive benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by:

  • increasing cultural safety within our workplace.
  • creating and supporting an inclusive and diverse workforce that represents the community we serve.
  • strengthening our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and businesses.
  • valuing the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their experiences, and perspectives.
