About the role
Our Cultural Heritage Officers work with local communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elders, to protect cultural heritage during transport infrastructure activities in Queensland. They use policies, processes, and templates to identify and safeguard sacred spaces and sites, ensuring that the development of transport infrastructure is respectful, inclusive, and effective for the entire community.
As a Cultural Heritage Officer, you will learn to use these policies and processes to consult with communities and build positive relationships, ultimately contributing to the protection of cultural heritage. You will also develop local partnerships that give back to the community and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youths to consider employment opportunities with us.
