The coolest thing about my job is producing meaningful work and seeing the impact it has on other people. The people and the social network of graduates in the department are also great.

What’s your job about?

In this current rotation, I write briefs and releases for key economic indicators as well as manage the release of the Minister's Daily Data. In my previous rotation, I wrote a chapter in the Resources and Energy Quarterly on battery minerals and did some coding for the Net-Zero Modelling team. Additionally, as a grad, I host social club trivia, manage Coffee Roulette for the Gender Equity Network and I am part of the steering committee for the Data Graduate Network.

What’s your background?

I am from Melbourne and studied a Bachelor of Applied Data Science at Monash University, with an applied study in business analytics.

Could someone with a different background do your job?

Yes! My fellow data graduates both do not have an explicit data background/training but are thriving as well.

What’s the coolest thing about your job?

What are the limitations of your job?

The lack of need for my technical skills is a limitation on my technical development. I have decided to pursue personal projects in my own time instead.
