With a background in human resources, Isobel left university with an interest in public service and international organisations.
“Joining DFAT, I’ve found the best of both worlds,” she said.
“My past year in the graduate program has opened my eyes to a multitude of career pathways and opportunities. My fellow grads have a variety of different backgrounds and experiences, so there’s no ‘one way to join DFAT.”
As a corporate graduate, Isobel has worked across a range of teams, supporting and protecting Australians overseas, including on crises in Afghanistan and Ukraine, and is shortly heading to Vientiane in Laos on a short term mission.
“I’m looking forward to using the skills and experiences I’ve had at DFAT so far to support my fellow Australians,” Isobel said.
