The ATO is a very diverse workplace. The female leadership in the ATO at the higher ranks is very impressive.

The office is extremely diverse in so many ways and it is something I value highly. There are events and initiatives that celebrate all minorities and I am always happy to get involved and show support.

The company has very good diversity and I feel there is always equal opportunity for everyone no matter gender, ethnicity, disabilities etc.

I have never felt discriminated against here because of my age, gender, or educational background. They genuinely seem interest in developing people based on merit.

In my experience, I have observed that there are 'Women in ...' forums; celebrations on International Women's Day; there are Indigenous Affirmative Measure job recruitment drives; an Indigenous Entry Level Program (Evergreen Program); Disability Affirmative Measure job recruitment drives; reasonable adjustment processes to allow for those with disabilities to perform their job; Societies that celebrate and support minority groups such as the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Network, ATO National Disability Network, ATOMIC (ATO Making Inclusion Count - an LGBTQ+ support network), Neurodiversity Network, Generational Inclusion Network, and Moondani (First Nations Network). From what I have observed, recruitment and promotion is based on merit and there is no discrimination based on belonging to a minority group. Maternity and paternity leave options are available and I know of many of my team who have left and returned to their roles/levels upon their return from maternity leave (after a considerable amount of time) with support to ease them back into the team/organisation (i.e. part-time if they prefer this).

I feel the ATO really attempts to be diverse and promote a culture of diversity to ensure everyone feels as though they belong and can bring their whole selves to work.

Multiple provisions are available for flexible working for child care and maternity leave. The company openly supports LGBTQIA+ issues and is working to expand the number of Indigenous people in the organisation.
